As the country gears up for the general elections next year, the youths who form the majority of Uganda's population have been cautioned to desists from all forms of violence or else they risk being arrested and detained for several electoral charges.

Kyazanga Town Council, Lwengo District – Yesterday’s youth council elections in Kyazanga descended into chaos as security forces fired live bullets and tear gas to disperse frustrated young voters who accused authorities of blocking their preferred candidates.

Police in Lwengo District fired live bullets and tear gas at angry youth who came to vote, only to discover that their fellow youth of the National Resistance Movement were not on the voters' list

The police, led by Pamela Kawuma, the officer in charge of Kyazanga police station, attempted to force the youth to vote, but unfortunately, they refused.
