Pallisa, Uganda – A heartbreaking incident has left a family and community in mourning after a young boy lost his life in a devastating accident. 

On Sunday evening, at around 5:10 PM, 14-year-old Simon Okodi tragically died after falling from a moving truck along the Kibale-Kamuge road in Kibale Town Council, Pallisa District.  

 

Kapchorwa,  – A devastating road accident has left families in mourning after 11 people lost their lives in a tragic crash at Chepkwatit, Kaserem Sub-County, along the Kapchorwa-Bulambuli road. The incident occurred on Saturday night, adding to the growing list of fatalities on this dangerous stretch of road.  
  
On the evening of May 17, 2025, at around 8:30 PM, a Toyota HiAce taxi (Registration UBE 932N) traveling from Kween District towards Kapchorwa-Bulambuli  heading back to busia  district  the car   lost control at Chepkwatit, a notorious accident hotspot. The vehicle overturned multiple times, killing eight passengers instantly and leaving eight others seriously injured. 

 

Mbale, Uganda-   Members of Parliament (MPs) on the Committee of Trade, Tourism, and Industries, led by Hon. Awor Betty Engola, the Woman MP for Apac District, conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing construction of the Mbale Regional Satellite Wildlife Zoo today. The team assessed progress on the facility, which is part of the Ugandan government’s initiative to establish satellite zoos in four regions: Mbale, Gulu, Mbarara, and Kyenjojo.
