UBOS launched the second phase of its national primary school census, recruiting 1,100 enumerators.

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has launched the second phase of its national primary school census and is recruiting 1,100 enumerators to carry out the exercise. This initiative was disclosed by the UBOS Deputy Public Relations Officer, Lawrence Kimbowa, during a press conference at the Media Centre.

Chairperson of the University Council of Uganda Christian University (UCU),  Professor Alfred Olwa, has called upon graduates to uphold integrity, faith, and servant leadership as they begin their next chapter beyond the university gates.

Delivering his message through the Vice Chairperson of the University Council, Mrs Barbara Sekatuka, during the 26th UCU Graduation Ceremony (Part II) held at the main campus in Mukono, Prof. Olwa congratulated the graduates for their perseverance and commitment, describing the occasion as “a testimony to God’s faithfulness.”

Uganda Christian University (UCU) will on Friday, October 25, 2025, hold the second part of its 24th Graduation Ceremony, marking a major milestone as 568 students are conferred degrees and diplomas in various academic disciplines.

Speaking during a press briefing ahead of the event, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. John Kitayimbwa, described the upcoming ceremony as “a moment of pride, thanksgiving, and celebration” for both the university and the graduates’ families.

Kyanjovu Secondary School in Lwengo District, Uganda, accommodates 21 Senior Four candidates, including Brian Lwesaabula, a student with a physical disability.


As the final Senior Four examinations enter their second day, a visit to Kyanjovu Secondary School in Kanso Town, Lwengo District, highlighted the provisions made for inclusive education. The school, with a total of 21 candidates, includes a student with a physical disability, Brian Lwesaabula, who has limited use of both arms.

 

The headteacher is now making a desperate appeal for the government to urgently intervene and resolve this crisis.

A report from Lwengo district highlights the severe challenges faced by schools struggling with inadequate infrastructure, which directly impacts students' ability to learn. The situation at Nakateete Secondary School in Kyazanga Town Council is a stark example.
