As the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations commence, officials from the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) have cautioned school heads, scouts and invigilators to uphold integrity and ensure the credibility of the examination process.

Speaking during a briefing of centre heads and scouts at Mukono police station, Chief Scout Matthias Mitti emphasised that examination malpractice poses a significant threat to the validity and reliability of the results issued by the Board.

The Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) for this year have officially concluded, with candidates across the country having completed their final papers. A post-examination visit to Sseke Primary School in Kinoni Town Council, Lwengo District, captured the reflections of pupils, who shared their experiences of the challenging exam period.

Authorities in Mukono are investigating a case of alleged defilement involving a teacher from Seeta Parents Primary School, who has reportedly gone into hiding after being accused of sexually abusing a 10-year-old pupil.

The suspect, identified as Moses Ssetumba Kusasira, is said to have been a Music and Drama teacher at the school located in Goma Division, Mukono Municipality.

UBOS launched the second phase of its national primary school census, recruiting 1,100 enumerators.

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has launched the second phase of its national primary school census and is recruiting 1,100 enumerators to carry out the exercise. This initiative was disclosed by the UBOS Deputy Public Relations Officer, Lawrence Kimbowa, during a press conference at the Media Centre.

Chairperson of the University Council of Uganda Christian University (UCU),  Professor Alfred Olwa, has called upon graduates to uphold integrity, faith, and servant leadership as they begin their next chapter beyond the university gates.

Delivering his message through the Vice Chairperson of the University Council, Mrs Barbara Sekatuka, during the 26th UCU Graduation Ceremony (Part II) held at the main campus in Mukono, Prof. Olwa congratulated the graduates for their perseverance and commitment, describing the occasion as “a testimony to God’s faithfulness.”
