Gganda, 26th May 2025– Police in Gganda, led by OC David Twinomujjuni and supported by the area’s security head, Christopher Muyimbwa, have arrested seven youths accused of terrorizing the village with machetes and knives. The suspects allegedly carried out violent attacks, including robberies and physical assaults on residents.
Kampala, May 23, 2025 – The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has raised alarms over rebel groups allegedly planning violent attacks and economic sabotage, while accusing foreign diplomats—including Germany’s ambassador—of funding destabilization efforts.
In a press release dated May 23, 2025, the Ministry of Defence & Veteran Affairs disclosed that security agencies have arrested multiple suspects linked to armed rebellion, bomb plots, and vandalism of electricity infrastructure in central Uganda. Districts such as Wakiso, Mukono, Kayunga, Luweero, and greater Masaka have been particularly affected.
A 22-year-old inmate, Alex Wolibwa, alias Magolo, collapsed and died while being rushed for medical treatment after fainting during forced labor at a farm in Bulambuli District. The incident has reignited outrage over Uganda’s brutal prison conditions, where inmates face overwork, starvation wages, and alleged exploitation by authorities.
A somber mood has descended upon Sseke Main Village in Kinoni Ward A, Kinoni Town Council, Lwengo District, after residents made a grim discovery - their neighbor, 50-year-old Lugemwa Banku, lay dead in his home.
