RDCs Urged To Monitor Government Programs, Warned Against Neglecting Duties

The permanent secretary of President Hajji Yunus Kakande urges the Residents district commissioners to monitor and supervise government programs effectively. Kakande warns of neglect of duty, which has affected government service delivery to communities.

The permanent secretary office of the president Hajji Yunus Kakande has urged the Residents district commissioners (RDCs) to ensure maximum monitoring and supervision of government programs. Hajji Kakande has also warned RDCs over neglect of duty which has affected government service delivery to communities.

In abid to achieve the president’s mission for “Kisanjja no sleep”, the Residents district commissioners in Busoga subregion have been urged to effectively carry out supervision on government’s programs in their respective areas of operation. The call was made by the permanent secretary office of the president Hajji Yunus Kakande during the opening of a three days retreat at source of the Nile hotel in Jinja city. 

The PS Kakande warned the RDCs and their deputies and assistants over neglect of duties which he says has affected service delivery for government programs.

 

 

Hajji Kakande also cautioned the RDCs and their deputies on conduct amongst themselves saying they need to improve on their discipline which he says is lacking. He also emphasized the need to help the residents to improve on their welfare.

 

In the same way the assistant commissioner, finance and planning, office of the president Sadat Kisuyi has cautioned RDCs on the results of government projects rather than waiting to make reports.

The senior presidential adviser on poverty alleviation Busoga subregion Florence Mutyabule who also attended the retreat warned the implementers of the Parish development model (PDM) on the increasing cases of corruption which she said has affected effectiveness of this program in Busoga. Mutyabule has threatened to arrest all those found culprits for PDM and also implored RDCs to keenly supervise the PDM program to benefit the locals as intended by government. 

 

 

RDCs has welcomed the retreat saying it has been timely and now ready to act according to what they have been advised to do.

 

 

The retreat has been attended by the residents district commissioners and deputies and DISSOs, RISSOs among others.
