CID Officers Complete Skills Enhancement Course

The Director of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Tom Magambo, today met with Regional, District, and Divisional CID officers at the CID Headquarters in Kibuli. The officers had recently concluded a one-month intensive skills enhancement course at the Police Skills Enhancement Centre in Kikandwa, Wakiso District.

The training, aimed at improving investigative techniques, forensic capabilities, and leadership skills, was part of the Uganda Police Force’s broader strategy to enhance professionalism and efficiency in criminal investigations.

In his address, AIGP Magambo commended the officers for their dedication and emphasized the importance of continuous learning in modern policing.

“The evolving nature of crime demands that we constantly upgrade our skills. This training has equipped you with advanced investigative tools and strategies to tackle complex cases effectively,” Magambo stated.

He urged the officers to apply the acquired knowledge in their respective regions to improve service delivery and public trust in the police force.

The CID spokesperson highlighted that the course covered key areas such as cybercrime investigation, intelligence gathering, case management, and human rights compliance. Participants expressed confidence that the training would significantly improve their operational effectiveness.

The officers will now return to their duty stations, where they are expected to implement best practices and mentor their colleagues. The police leadership plans to roll out similar training programs across the country to strengthen law enforcement capabilities.
