Mukono, Uganda – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries in Mukono District have been marred by irregularities, leading to the suspension of voting in several areas, including the Maternity Ward in Ntawo Ward. The electoral process, which was supposed to take place this weekend, has been halted due to disputes over voter register anomalies.  

MBALE DISTRICT – In a shocking and dramatic twist of political fate, the Member of Parliament for Bungokho Central, Hon. Richard Wanda, suffered a crushing and embarrassing defeat in the ongoing NRM grassroots elections, losing to a local man described as a "peasant" in what many are calling a stunning upset.  

All is set for tomorrow's CDF interface drill competition at the Kololo Independence Grounds, where the UPDF units and formations will showcase different means of alertness and communication in the military.

Thousands of supporters packed Rubindi Stadium for a high-profile rally featuring Hon. Bazil Bataringaya, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and President Yoweri Museveni amid tight security.  

Police and military personnel were heavily deployed, conducting strict checks and monitoring the crowd. The leaders delivered speeches praising government achievements and calling for unity.  

No incidents were reported, but the heavy security presence drew mixed reactions. Supporters hailed the event as a success, while critics questioned the need for such measures.
