Kampala, Uganda. Alintuma Nsambu John, the former Minister of Information and Communications Technology, has officially declared his return to Ugandan politics following a 14-year absence. The veteran politician picked his nomination papers at the NRM Electoral Commission offices on Kyadondo Road today.

A gathering of the Mobilisation and Security Group (MS) in Nansana has brought to light growing discontent among Ugandan youth regarding their treatment by political actors. Members of the organisation expressed frustration at being used for political mobilisation without receiving meaningful support in return.  

In a strategic mobilization drive, NRM youth leaders from all 27 districts of Buganda have launched the "NRM Youth Foot Bigere" initiative at Metha Grounds in Lugazi, Buikwe District. The movement aims to counter the party's declining fortunes in Uganda's central region following poor 2021 election performance that saw even cabinet ministers lose seats.

President Yoweri Museveni joined Bunyoro Kingdom officials and cultural leaders at a subdued 31st coronation anniversary celebration for Omukama Solomon Iguru I at Karuziika Palace in Hoima. The event, themed "Preserving Our Heritage, Protecting the Environment", took on a solemn tone as the monarch continues to battle illness.
