NRM Western Region CEC Race Heats Up as Eng. Jordan Asimwe Declares Bid

Hoima, Uganda. The race for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee (CEC) seat representing Western Uganda has intensified following  entracy of Eng. Jordan Asimwe, who has declared his intention to contest for the position.

Asimwe recently addressed journalists at the NRM Electoral Commission offices, where he verified his credentials in the party register to confirm his eligibility for the position.

He stated that the NRM Electoral Commission had cleared him after confirming that he meets all the necessary requirements. Party electoral officials have also given him the green light to proceed with his campaigns ahead of the nomination day, when candidates will submit their documents.

The current NRM Western Region CEC chairperson is Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, but several contenders, including Michael Mawanda and Eng. Jordan Asimwe, have expressed interest in the seat.

Asimwe, who currently serves as NRM Chairperson for Hoima City, is vying for the CEC position to amplify the voices of Western Uganda at the highest level of the party, ensuring their concerns reach President Yoweri Museveni, the NRM National Chairperson.

Though not a politician by profession, Eng. Jordan Asimwe is a prominent businessman and the chief sponsor of Kitara FC. A distinguished engineer, he has built a strong reputation in Uganda and across Africa for his professionalism and integrity.

His bid signals that NRM supporters in Western Uganda should expect a competitive race, with candidates assessed based on their ability to effectively serve the region.
