NRM Primaries: Over 1,800 Aspirants Submit Nomination Papers
The National Resistance Movement’s nomination exercise for party primaries kicked off last week with a massive turnout of aspirants. Over 1,800 candidates have already submitted their forms, with expectations that the number could surpass 2,000 by the end of the this week.
Several high-profile figures submitted their nominations today, including former Mubende Municipality MP Tibamalirwa Tony Ssemuli, who is seeking to reclaim his seat. In Makindye, former RCC Doreen Keita submitted her papers to challenge incumbent MP Allan Ssewanyana—if approved by the party.
Meanwhile, in Kampala, businessman Moses Kizito and city entrepreneur Mayambala Yusuf both entered the race for the NRM’s Lord Mayor ticket.
