President Museveni and First Lady Renew National Identity Cards
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the First Lady, Janet Museveni who also serves as Minister of Education and Sports today renewed their National Identity Cards during the ongoing mass registration exercise. The exercise took place at State Lodge, Nakasero.
The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), led by Executive Director Rosemary Kisembo, efficiently facilitated the process.
The mass renewal initiative is a critical part of Uganda’s national security strategy, ensuring accurate citizen records within the national identity framework. The upgraded biometric technology embedded in the IDs provides a secure and tamper-proof method of identity verification.
This effort highlights the government’s dedication to enhancing national identity systems and supporting socio-economic development.
