NRM Youth Race To Represent The Buganda Region In Parliament Intensify

Competition for the NRM party flag among youth aspiring to represent the Buganda region in Parliament has intensified following the submission of documents by Nasolo Shalon Mutoni, a native of Kiboga, to the NRM Electoral Commission.

Nasolo Shalon Mutoni (26) states that as a youth who has initiated many empowerment programs for young people and possesses the capability to advocate for them, she appeals to NRM youth in the Buganda region to trust her with the NRM flag to contest in the 2026 general elections.

She is joined by Kenani Opio, who seeks to represent Busiro South. Opio states that he can secure the Busiro South Parliamentary seat for the NRM due to his strong grassroots support and asks the NRM party leadership to award him the flag.

Opio explains he has executed numerous projects in Busiro (Wakiso District) and hopes his constituents will elect him to carry the NRM flag on July 16th this year, enabling him to contest in the 2026 elections and secure the seat for NRM.

Meanwhile, tension has risen among other flag bearer aspirants in Lyantonde District, where Generous Namara (Kafene Kawoma) has also picked the NRM flag.

Namara states she has demonstrated service to Lyantonde residents through building health facilities, supporting education, improving healthcare, and consistently standing with her community. She urges them to elect her to carry the NRM flag and represent Lyantonde in Parliament.

These candidates will be elected on July 16th, and we await to see who will carry the NRM flag.
