Kampala: The Uganda Police Force has issued a stern warning barring any form of political messaging for Tuesday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier match between Uganda Cranes and Guinea at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Speaking to the media at a pre-match briefing held at Namboole on Monday, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango emphasized that security measures have been tightened to ensure a smooth and incident-free match, urging fans to stay clear of political activities within the stadium premises.

The Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) made history on March 19, 2025, with the inaugural Uganda Olympic Committee Awards ceremony. Held at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, the prestigious event celebrated the remarkable achievements of Ugandan athletes over the past year, honoring the best male and female athletes across 33 sports federations.

Following their victory in the Buddu Ssaza and winning the third Masaza cup championship, Simon Dungu, who had previously been associated with Buddu has been appointed as the new coach of Gomba. This announcement was made earlier today at the Mulengera Sports Arena in Nsangi.  

On the 8th day of camp at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, the Uganda U17 Boys National Team, known as the Cubs, continued their intense preparations with a clear goal in mind: not only to excel at the upcoming U17 AFCON but also to secure qualification for the U17 FIFA World Cup. The AFCON tournament, scheduled for March 30 to April 19, 2025, in Morocco, serves as a pathway to the global stage, and the Cubs are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to make history.
