The President of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni along with the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Kataaha Museveni launched the TotalEnergies 2024 tournament on 25th July 2025 at an event held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

During the launch, President Museveni praised the event as an opportunity to showcase Uganda’s potential as a hub for continental sports events. He emphasised the role of football in uniting the country and promoting regional development.

Uganda’s CHAN 2024 Preparations: Is the 28.5 Billion Shillings Marketing Budget Effective?


The Ugandan government has released 28.5 billion shillings (approximately USD 7.8 million) for marketing the upcoming CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024). This includes funding for billboards, flyers, posters, and banners in Kampala to promote the tournament, according to the Local Organising Committee spokesperson, Dr. Denis K. Mugimba.

Buddo SS continues its impressive run by winning the national building and construction competitions, defeating St. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende 29-27 in the ball games held in Tororo.
