Government warns against land grabbing in Lyantonde, calls for unity and support for NRM  

LYANTONDE – The government has issued a strong warning against land grabbing in Lyantonde District, urging residents to resolve land disputes peacefully. The call was made during a rally organised to mobilise support for President Yoweri Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ahead of the upcoming elections.

President Museveni established a special legal committee to investigate election-related grievances within four months.

In a move to streamline the resolution of election-related grievances, President Yoweri Museveni has established a special legal committee tasked with investigating petitions filed by candidates alleging electoral malpractice. The committee, which will commence hearings within the next four months, aims to address complaints from both parliamentary and local government races.  

Four NRM party members are challenging established leaders for positions on the Central Executive Committee.
