DP Mobilizes Grassroots Support Ahead of Elections in Mukono

Democratic Party launches grassroots campaign in Mukono South Constituency.

MUKONO – The Democratic Party (DP) has launched an intensive grassroots mobilisation campaign across all six sub-counties of Mukono South Constituency, aiming to consolidate support for its candidates in upcoming elections at all administrative levels.

The party's coordination meeting, held in Ntenjeru-Kisoga Town Council, saw Mukono South MP Kayondo Fred rallying members to work collectively for electoral success. "This isn't the time for personal ambitions but united action," Kayondo emphasised, urging members to prioritise the party's victory over individual interests.
The legislator didn't shy away from addressing internal challenges, making veiled references to past disagreements with former party leader Norbert Mao while stressing the need for truth and justice within DP structures. "We must courageously defend our principles," he added, drawing applause from attendees.

Party members expressed strong confidence in Kayondo's leadership, with several urging him to maintain his steadfast position in the party. "Our victory is assured if we remain united under this guidance," remarked one long-time member during the charged gathering.
Saul Wamala, DP Chairperson for Mukono South Constituency, outlined the party's strategic roadmap, revealing plans for continuous voter engagement through similar meetings across the constituency. The mobilization drive focuses particularly on securing the parliamentary seat while strengthening the party's presence at local council levels.
