Mbale, Uganda – What was meant to be a day of political mobilisation turned into a scene of horror and grief as a campaign accident claimed the lives of two supporters and left several others critically injured. The joint campaigns in Mbale District have been suspended indefinitely following the tragic incident, which has cast a dark shadow over the ongoing electoral process.

As the country gears up for the general elections next year, the youths who form the majority of Uganda's population have been cautioned to desists from all forms of violence or else they risk being arrested and detained for several electoral charges.
