Mukono District Launches Development Plan 2025-2040, Emphasising Legal Compliance and Sustainable Growth  


Mukono, Uganda – The government has initiated a strategic move to promote structured development across the country through the National Physical Development Plan (NPDP) 2022-2040, which was passed by Parliament in 2022 and officially came into force in April 2024. This plan provides a framework for guided and sustainable development in Uganda.  

Traders in three arcades will protest against landlord Tom Kitandwe over unfair rental charges, high utility fees, and inadequate security.


Kampala, Uganda – Traders operating in the Galilaya, Grand Corner, and Gaza arcades have announced plans to proceed with a demonstration against their landlord, Tom Kitandwe, on Tuesday. This decision follows a failed consultation meeting held at Aponye Hotel, where traders outlined grievances including unfair rental charges, exorbitant utility fees, and inadequate security.  

Lwengo District farmers, especially those on the Kyotera route, face challenges due to an irrigation project collapse and declining crop yields, impacting livelihoods in Kyasonko Village.

Kyasonko Village, Kiseka Sub-County, Lwengo District – Farmers in Lwengo District, particularly those relying on the Kyotera route for transportation, are facing significant challenges due to the collapse of an irrigation project and declining crop yields. The situation has left many in Kyasonko Village struggling to sustain their livelihoods.

Over 1,000 local and 30 international companies will participate in the 31st Uganda International Trade Fair.
