Residents of Bubbaale in Nansana Municipality have apprehended two young men, Robert Katende (30) and Andrew Busingye (20), for allegedly stealing goats in the area. The duo was caught red-handed trying to sell a stolen goat at a local market for UGX 30,000.

Kampala Traffic Police have launched a stern crackdown after a viral TikTok video showed a dangerous stunt involving a taxi and a content creator in Nsambya. The disturbing footage, which has since gone viral across social media platforms, captured a young man casually seated on a wooden chair mounted precariously on the roof of a moving Toyota Hiace taxi with registration number UAZ 910B.

Authorities acted swiftly upon discovering the video, utilising the city's CCTV network to trace and impound the vehicle at Kabalagala Police Station. Preliminary investigations reveal the shocking details behind the stunt - the individual, identified as a popular TikTok content creator, allegedly paid the taxi crew UGX 20,000 to facilitate this life-threatening act.

Both the driver and conductor are currently in custody, facing serious charges under Section 117 of the Traffic and Road Safety Act for endangering public safety through reckless behaviour. Police have launched a manhunt for the TikTok creator, who will face similar charges for willingly participating in the dangerous stunt.

SP Michael Kananura, the Traffic Police spokesperson, issued a strong condemnation of the incident, emphasising that such reckless behaviour under the guise of entertainment could have had fatal consequences. "This was not comedy - it was criminal negligence that put multiple lives at risk," Kananura stated, noting an alarming trend of increasingly dangerous stunts being performed for social media clout.

The incident has raised serious concerns about road safety enforcement, particularly as it occurred in an area without active traffic patrols. Authorities warn that both content creators and transport operators who collaborate on such dangerous acts will face severe penalties, including heavy fines, license suspension, and potential imprisonment.

As investigations continue, police urge the public to report similar dangerous behaviour and remind all road users that safety must always take precedence over social media trends. The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court once the investigation is complete, serving as a stern warning to others who might consider similar reckless acts.

Mukono District – Grief and fear grip Banda village after armed assailants killed choir member Brian Kasimagwa and left several others severely injured, including sub-county vice chairperson Yafeesi Kiyaga, during a brutal overnight raid.  

The attackers, believed to be unemployed youth from neighbouring areas, targeted multiple homes in Nakisunga Sub-county. Kasimagwa's mother recounted finding her son's lifeless body after hearing commotion, while survivor Emmanuel Bbosa remains hospitalised with critical head injuries from hammer blows.  

Local leaders attribute the violence to rising unemployment and inadequate security patrols. Kampala Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed launched investigations as forensic teams examine the crime scene. The victim's body has been transferred to Mulago Hospital for autopsy.  

Residents now keep night vigils, fearing renewed attacks in the area where criminal elements reportedly conduct advance surveillance before striking. Community leaders plead for urgent security reinforcement as the village mourns Kasimagwa, a promising education student preparing to join Kyambogo University.

The State House anti-corruption Unit has arrested other people for allegedly extorting money from various people with the intention of getting them jobs in Mukono district.

The arrested is identified as Ronald Mugerwa, the probation officer of Lugazi Municipality, who was arrested on Saturday, which increased the number of people.

Natasha Mariam, spokesperson SHCU, confirmed the arrest of Mugerwa, who had joined the chairman, Eng Dr Godfery Kibuuka Kisuule and Mukono District Council Speaker Betty Nakasi Hope, who were arrested on Friday last week.

The three were taken from the Mukono Police Station and taken to an unknown location on Saturday night. Natasha added that the suspects were extorting between 5M- 40M, according to the job that person wanted.

Natasha said they are still conducting a raid, and many are still being arrested and will be taken to court anytime soon, and their file is currently being prepared to determine the charges.

She urged all those who are being extorted to get jobs to come out so that they can be helped.

It was also found that the work in Mukono was given to their wives, friends and relatives, which they say has led to the regulation of the work in the country.
