Kisimu Village residents apprehended a notorious thief.


NANSANA MUNICIPALITY – Tired of enduring persistent theft, residents of Kisimu Village, Nabweru Division, took matters into their own hands by apprehending a notorious young thief who had been terrorising the community.  

 Police in Namisindwa arrested two suspects, including the LC1 Chairperson of Bumwango Village, for stealing eight computers from Namboko Seed Secondary School.


NAMISINDWA DISTRICT – Police in Namisindwa are holding the LC1 Chairperson of Bumwango Village, Haluma Rogers, in connection with the theft of eight computers from Namboko Seed Secondary School. The suspect, who also worked as a security guard at the school, was arrested alongside another suspect, Wanyakala Martin, while a third accomplice remains at large.

A wave of grief and outrage has swept through Buyende district following the brutal murder of a 14-year-old boy, Joseph Kirya, who was allegedly tortured to death after being accused of stealing money from a Catholic priest.

The young victim, a resident of Wesunire, Makanga Ward in Buyende Town Council, was reportedly accused of stealing UGX 5,000,000 (Five Million Shillings) from the room of Reverend Father Owori Silver Osuna, a 33-year-old priest at Wesunire Parish.

Uganda’s legal body released a report on the state of the rule of law, highlighting progress and gaps in the justice system.


Kampala - The Uganda Law Society has issued a strong call for the government to uphold the rule of law without exception, demanding equal application of legal consequences for all perpetrators of human rights violations, including state actors. During a press briefing in Kampala, ULS Vice President Anthony Asimwe emphasised the urgent need for government institutions to adhere to proper legal procedures and stop manipulating judicial processes.
