In Kagando II village, Kasese district, anguish grips Edward Muhindo's household as his six-year-old son Dalton Masereke has been missing since last week. The disappearance occurred when the boy chased neighbour Doreen Biira's poultry, sparking a chain of events that saw Biira arrested while Muhindo faced a 77,000-shilling fine from local council courts.  

Local authorities in Kinoni Town Council, Lwengo District, have launched a vigorous campaign against the escalating theft and destruction of public utilities, particularly electricity infrastructure. During a security meeting convened by Bukoto South MP Dr. Twaha Kagabo, area leaders resolved to strengthen surveillance and enforcement measures to curb the vandalism plaguing the community.

The Director of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Tom Magambo, today met with Regional, District, and Divisional CID officers at the CID Headquarters in Kibuli. The officers had recently concluded a one-month intensive skills enhancement course at the Police Skills Enhancement Centre in Kikandwa, Wakiso District.  

Gganda, 26th May 2025– Police in Gganda, led by OC David Twinomujjuni and supported by the area’s security head, Christopher Muyimbwa, have arrested seven youths accused of terrorizing the village with machetes and knives. The suspects allegedly carried out violent attacks, including robberies and physical assaults on residents.  

Kampala, May 23, 2025 – The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has raised alarms over rebel groups allegedly planning violent attacks and economic sabotage, while accusing foreign diplomats—including Germany’s ambassador—of funding destabilization efforts.

In a press release dated May 23, 2025, the Ministry of Defence & Veteran Affairs disclosed that security agencies have arrested multiple suspects linked to armed rebellion, bomb plots, and vandalism of electricity infrastructure in central Uganda. Districts such as Wakiso, Mukono, Kayunga, Luweero, and greater Masaka have been particularly affected.
