Six men accused of murdering former Compassion International Uganda official Godfrey Wayengera, 45 years old, have been arraigned before Mukono Grade One Magistrate Elizabeth Peace Lamunu and charged with three counts of murder, kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Kampala metropolitan police intensify security crackdown, arrest over 200 suspects in coordinated operations  

Kampala, Uganda – A series of targeted security operations across Kampala's metropolitan area has led to the arrest of more than 200 suspects linked to various criminal activities, according to police reports. The operations, conducted jointly by the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP), Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF), and Crime Intelligence units, targeted hotspots in Mukono, Nansana, and central Kampala divisions over 48 hours.  

Specioza Kayaga, 37, killed her husband Charles Sebulime, 42, all residents of Namuyenje village in Mukono district.

Police in Mukono have arrested a woman who is accused of stabbing her husband to death, leaving her with a 4-year-old boy.

The suspect has been identified as Specioza Kayaga, 37, who killed her husband Charles Sebulime, 42, all residents of Namuyenje village in Nakisunga sub-county in Mukono district.

The suspects are currently detained at Ssanga Police Station as investigations continue into what appears to be an organised theft ring operating in the area. Authorities warn that mob justice will also face legal consequences.  

Residents of Bubbaale in Nansana Municipality have apprehended two young men, Robert Katende (30) and Andrew Busingye (20), for allegedly stealing goats in the area. The duo was caught red-handed trying to sell a stolen goat at a local market for UGX 30,000.
