Hit-and-Run Involving Musician Weasel and Fiance Sandra Teta

Sandra Teta is detained by Kabalagala Police for a hit-and-run incident involving musician Douglas Mayanja.


KAMPALA – Kabalagala Police are currently holding Sandra Teta in connection with an incident involving musician Douglas Mayanja, popularly known as Weasel. The alleged hit-and-run occurred late last night at Shan's Bar in Munyonyo.  

According to police reports, the incident happened around midnight when Teta allegedly drove her vehicle, registration number UBH 148Y, into Mayanja following an altercation between the two. The vehicle has been impounded and is currently held at Kabalagala Police Station as evidence.  

Mayanja was initially rushed to Mukwaya Hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to Nsambya Hospital, where he remains admitted and receiving medical care.  

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing. Police have classified the case as unlawful wounding and will provide further updates as the investigation progresses.  

Authorities have not yet disclosed the nature of the relationship between Teta and Mayanja or what may have precipitated the altercation. The case has drawn significant public interest due to Mayanja's celebrity status as one half of the famous musical duo Radio and Weasel.  

Police are appealing to anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward as they continue their investigations. Updates will be provided as more details emerge.
