For days, Fredrick Namara Karuhanga lay unconscious after a brutal assault that nearly claimed his life in March 2023.
Severely beaten, abandoned along the lakeshores of Mbeya Island in Mukono District, and stripped of his property, Namara survived only after marine soldiers intervened and rushed him for medical attention.
Mukono Chief Magistrate’s Court is set to deliver a pivotal ruling tomorrow, Tuesday Frbraury 24, 2026 in an election petition that has drawn significant attention from the locals of Ntenjeru–Kisoga Town Council in Mukono District.
Security was heightened at the Mukono Magistrate’s Court as Dak Hussein Taewaiko, 21, was arraigned in connection with the brutal murder of Uganda Christian University (UCU) Director students affair Pamella Ruth Tumwebaze.
Taewaiko, who had reportedly worked as a houseboy at the deceased’s residence before being dismissed, was presented before the court under tight guard by operatives from the Joint Anti-Terrorism (JAT) unit. He was immediately remanded to prison following his appearance.
The Joint Security Task Team investigating the brutal murder of Pamela Ruth Tumwebaze, the Director of Students Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU), has arrested a key suspect in connection with her killing.
