During Easter prayers in Mukono, Samuel Lwandasa, the leader of Born-Again churches in Greater Mukono and Bishop of Mt. Lebanon Christian Centre Cathedral, delivered a strong message condemning the growing cases of murder, corruption, and moral decline in Uganda.

Law enforcement officers backed by the army and police began a major operation this morning to remove hundreds of illegal street vendors operating along roads that were recently widened under a major road expansion project in Mukono town.

In a chilling case that has shocked residents of Kitebe village in Seeta Nazigo parish, Nakisunga sub-county, Mukono District, a mother, her 16-year old daughter, and the daughter’s 17-year-old boyfriend have been remanded in custody on charges of murdering the girl’s father.

The suspect was apprehended and is currently in police custody at Matugga. Investigations are ongoing.

The suspect, Masaba John, was previously in a relationship with a woman identified as Nanfuka Joan. After their separation, Nanfuka reportedly began a new relationship with the victim, Kiyingi Vincent.
