As Buganda Kingdom prepares to celebrate the 70th birthday of His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the Pookiino (County Chief) of Buddu has urged the government to prioritize environmental conservation and renewable energy initiatives. The call was made during a community event aimed at promoting sustainable practices and protecting the environment.  

A planned NRM meeting in Goma Central Division, Mukono Municipality, turned chaotic as factions within the party clashed, leading to violence and injuries. The meeting, aimed at mobilizing support and strengthening the party, was disrupted by disagreements between members from Goma Division and those from neighboring sub-counties, including Nama, Nakisunga, and Mukono Municipality.  

Fishermen along the shores of Bugiri in Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District, have voiced their dissatisfaction with illegal fishermen and enforcement officers who have been accused of harassing them. The fishermen claim that these illegal operators, who use unauthorized fishing methods, have polluted the waters and disrupted their livelihoods.  

Following the chaos and irregularities reported during the Kawempe North by-election held last Thursday, NRM flag bearer Hajat Faridah Nambi has spoken out, vowing to challenge the election results in court. Nambi is contesting the victory of NUP's Elias Nalukoola Luyimbazi, who was declared the winner by the Electoral Commission.
