President Museveni also issued a standing order to all government officials, including Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), and ministers, to actively engage with the media. This directive came in response to concerns raised by journalists from the Ankole sub-region, who reported that many officials fail to honor media invitations to explain government programs to the public.  

The President's upcoming visit to the Ankole region is packed with exciting events aimed at assessing development programs and engaging with local leaders and communities. 

As the government prepares to reintroduce the UPDF Amendment Bill 2024, which seeks to reestablish military courts, Members of Parliament are divided over the proposal to allow civilians to be tried in these courts, a practice that was previously abolished in favor of civilian courts.

There are individuals of Rwandan origin living in Uganda who, despite their long-term residence, face challenges in fully integrating into Ugandan society. These individuals are calling on the government, under the leadership of H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, to address their plight by amending Article 10 of the Ugandan Constitution, which would allow them to become Ugandan citizens.
