A public confrontation emerged today between Kampala Central Mayor Salim Uhuru and Kampala Minister Hajjat Minsa Kabanda during the ongoing National Resistance Movement (NRM) party structure elections. The incident occurred at Eagles Nest Secondary School in Kisenyi, where sub-county level elections were being conducted under heightened security measures.

Kampala witnessed unprecedented security measures today as authorities deployed heavily armed personnel around the Parliamentary precinct and all major access routes. This security clampdown comes as legislators prepare to debate the controversial UPDF Amendment Bill 2025, creating significant disruptions to normal activities in the city centre.

Kampala, Uganda – A faction of Democratic Party (DP) leaders has petitioned the Electoral Commission, demanding the suspension of the party’s upcoming National Executive Conference slated for 30th [Month]. The group, including Buikwe South MP Dr. Lulume Bayiga, Bukoto South MP Richard Sebamala, and party members Edith Byanyima and Julius Dumba, accuses the current leadership of irregularities in the conference preparations.
