Omukama Solomon Gafabusa's 31st Coronation Anniversary: Bunyoro Kingdom Calls for National Support

Hoima, Uganda – As Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom prepares to celebrate the 31st coronation anniversary of Omukama Solomon Iguru I, kingdom officials have appealed to all Ugandans to support the upcoming festivities set to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the ancient kingdom.

Led by Prime Minister Andrew Byakutaga, the Bunyoro Kingdom cabinet has launched elaborate plans for the anniversary celebrations, which will include a grand procession through Hoima town to mark the occasion. The event, scheduled for June 11, will also feature cultural performances, traditional ceremonies, and community outreach programs.

A key focus of this year's celebrations is a fundraising campaign to purchase a colposcopy machine for Hoima Regional Referral Hospital. The life-saving equipment will enhance cervical cancer screening and treatment in the region.

Hoima security officials have pledged full cooperation with kingdom organizers to ensure smooth celebrations. Local government agencies and NGOs have also promised logistical support for the events that will highlight Bunyoro's cultural renaissance under Omukama Iguru's 31-year reign.

Kingdom officials emphasize that while the celebrations center on Bunyoro's heritage, all Ugandans are welcome to join what promises to be a colorful display of traditional dances, royal regalia, and cultural exhibitions.

As preparations intensify, the Bunyoro Kingdom continues its tradition of blending cultural preservation with modern development initiatives, cementing its role as one of Uganda's most influential traditional institutions.
