A violent armed robbery at Nabutta Trading Centre in Mukono Municipality has resulted in the death of one man. The incident occurred on November 5, 2025, at approximately 11:00 PM.
According to the police report, a group of unidentified assailants, described as wearing black jackets and helmets and armed with guns, targeted multiple businesses in the area. The robbers stole unspecified amounts of money from victims identified as Nafayo Justine, Namatovu Prossy (also known as Maama Ibra), and Ssekamate Peter.
Tragically, when Ssekamate Peter attempted to resist the robbers, he was shot in the chest. He was rushed to Mukono General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries at around 12:40 AM.
Police have confirmed that they have visited the crime scene and an investigation is underway. The modus operandi of the attackers suggests they are part of a larger criminal group that has been terrorizing other divisions within the Kampala Metropolitan area. Authorities have stated they have "good leads" and are actively working to track down the assailants.
