In an effort to expedite the resolution of cases in lower courts and reduce case backlogs, the judiciary has appointed additional judges to these courts to support the existing ones.

Among the new appointments, 12 judges have been assigned to head lower courts, while 39 others have been appointed to the High Court. These judges recently underwent a two-week training program at Colline Hotel in Mukono to prepare them for their new roles.

The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has directed that media leaders be taken to Kyankwanzi for a swift training session. Muhoozi stated that this training is aimed at educating media leaders about their responsibilities to the nation and teaching them about the dangers of spreading harmful information.

President Museveni also issued a standing order to all government officials, including Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), and ministers, to actively engage with the media. This directive came in response to concerns raised by journalists from the Ankole sub-region, who reported that many officials fail to honor media invitations to explain government programs to the public.

The President's upcoming visit to the Ankole region is packed with exciting events aimed at assessing development programs and engaging with local leaders and communities.
