An 80-year-old woman,Edith Natumbwe Kizito, has petitioned the Law Development Centre (LDC) court in Makerere, seeking legal protection against a woman named Mariam Kuteesa, whom she accuses of attempting to grab her land.
Residents of Ntaawo village in Mukono Municipality were thrown into shock in the early hours of Monday morning after armed assailants ambushed a police officer, shot him dead, and made off with his gun.
The deceased, ASP Emanuel Bagenda, was the officer in charge of the Ntaawo police station. His colleague, Jackson Kiyinji, survived with serious injuries and was rushed to Nakasero Hospital in critical condition.

Police at Seeta had earlier confirmed launching a wider investigation into allegations that a teacher, Moses Kusasira Ssentumba, sexually abused a seven-year-old pupil and molested several others.
The Police in Mityana District are actively investigating two distressing cases of suspected child abduction, both occurring on 11th November 2025. Despite intensive efforts, no breakthrough has yet been achieved in locating the missing children.
