Residents of Mpunga Village in Wakiso Town Council have staged a protest against their Local Council (LC) Chairperson, Ndawula David, accusing him of misusing his office and engaging in corrupt practices. The protest turned chaotic, prompting police intervention to restore order.  

Members of Parliament have strongly condemned the violence and intimidation reported during the campaign for the Kawempe North by-election. During a parliamentary session today, legislators expressed outrage over the actions of security personnel and other individuals who have been accused of harassing voters and disrupting the electoral process.

The move comes amid growing concerns over land grabbing and internal conflicts that have threatened the party's cohesion in the region.

The President made these remarks during a memorial service held in honor of the late Eriya Kategaya, a former Deputy Prime Minister and influential figure in Uganda’s political and legal landscape, who passed away on March 2, 2013.
