Kinobe: Its CEC to determine the NRM forth coming vice chairperson between Kadaaga and Among

There is currently stiff competition for the vice president position between former Speaker Rebecca Kadagaand current Speaker Anita Among

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is preparing for its forthcoming delegates conference, with a focus on the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting scheduled from August 22nd to 28th. The CEC will determine if any candidates for the party's vice president position will be asked to withdraw from the race.

There is currently stiff competition for the vice president position between former Speaker Rebecca Kadagaand current Speaker Anita Among. This has prompted the party to intervene to maintain cohesion. NRM Commissioner for the Buganda region, James Kinobe, stated in an exclusive interview with Salt Media that this decision will not be made hastily. He explained that the CEC will scrutinize the candidates after they have undergone the nomination process.

Kinobe also raised concerns about the exchange of money within the party, which he believes is affecting party unity. He argued that the party should be responsible for all expenditures, not individuals.

The delegates' assembly agenda includes the election of internal party structures.1 Kinobe clarified that the conference is by invitation only and will be attended by special interest groups, including representatives for people with disabilities, youth, the elderly, and workers, who will also participate in the elections.2 The conference, which has a variety of activities, is scheduled from August 22nd to 28th, with invitations being extended by the Secretary General.
