In a press briefing held today at the African Coffee Park in Rwashamire, Ntungamo District, Mr. Deo Kaguta, representing the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), announced an exciting lineup of events aimed at promoting Uganda’s coffee industry.  
 
Kaguta extended an open invitation to the general public to participate in the upcoming Coffee Marathon , scheduled for 24th this month. The marathon is expected to draw coffee enthusiasts, farmers, and athletes from across the region, offering a unique opportunity to celebrate Uganda’s rich coffee heritage while promoting health and community engagement.

The traders under their umbrella organisation KACITA have strongly opposed the new policy, saying it's to force them out of business. At a press conference held this afternoon, the traders cited their cargo, which is still stranded at the customs in Mombasa.

The Ministry of Works has grounded and suspended the operations of YY coaches for 15 days starting today at 7 p.m., following the recent nasty accidents in Katosi and along the Gulu highway attributed to reckless driving.

Ntungamo, Uganda, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to inaugurate a new coffee factory in Ntungamo District on May 24, 2025, in a move aimed at boosting Uganda’s coffee industry and supporting the government’s Buy Uganda, Build Uganda (BUBU) initiative.
