In the fight against poverty in households, women are embarking on income-generating activities they can do to escape poverty.
We found one woman who started selling cooked beans. She cooks for people who are unable to cook in their own homes, and she operates as a professional cook for people in her community.
This woman has revealed that she sells a cup of her cooked beans for one thousand shillings. She compares the income from this work to a salaried job.
She now wants the government, through its leader, to support her by increasing her startup capital, just as it has done for others by providing them with startup items like sewing machines, hairdryers, loans, and other equipment.
This leads us to the question: How many people have actually benefited from the startup capital disbursed from the State House? And who are the people benefiting from the Youth Wealth Creation program that has been so helpful answer is more than 1700 people in Kampala only.

Some of the beneficiaries include youth involved in chapati making, women making potato chips, those using hairdryers to make wigs, and those frying emberenge (grasshoppers). They receive their startup capital from the office of Jane Barekye, the accountant in charge of funds at State House.
This State House initiative started in 2022 and has continued to this day, having supported over 1,700 people. It has now been rolled out in five divisions of Kampala. Today, they have reached beneficiaries in Lubaga Division, who have praised the national leader for helping to lift them out of poverty.
Faizo Ndase, the head of the Youth Wealth Creation program from State House, has advised the beneficiaries to use the provided startup capital wisely and to pay back so that it can be given to others.
The beneficiaries have, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the President. In a show of overwhelming support, they stated that because he loves them, he has rescued them from poverty.
