The Ugandan government has stepped in to resolve the long-standing land dispute over Kazi Busaabala, a 120-acre piece of land that has been at the center of controversy for years. The land, which has been claimed by various parties including the Buganda Kingdom, the Scouts Association, and the descendants of Kabaka Daudi Chwa, has now been officially awarded to the heirs of Daudi Chwa.

Youths who misused funds from the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP) will not be forgiven, Winnie Matsiko, the national coordinator of the program, has declared. Matsiko emphasized that the government is not lenient towards individuals who mismanage public resources meant to empower young people.  

Residents of various areas in Greater Masaka, known for producing food crops such as bananas, coffee, and vegetables, are facing severe challenges due to an extended dry spell. The drought has caused significant damage to crops, leaving farmers uncertain about their livelihoods and calling for government intervention.  

Mbale City is facing mounting tensions as truck and pickup drivers operating on the city streets have vehemently rejected a directive from the city council to relocate to the Uhuru Auto Service Park. The drivers, under the Mbale United Trucks and Pickups Drivers Association, argue that the move is unfair and lacks proper consultation, sparking a standoff between the drivers and city authorities. The dispute highlights broader concerns over the lack of designated parking spaces and the perceived marginalization of transport operators in the city.

Ramadan Goobi, the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, is under scrutiny for failing to account for   1.5 trillion shillings   used in excess during the   2023/2024 financial year  . This follows the release of audited reports that revealed significant discrepancies in revenue collection and expenditure.
