Residents from six villages in Kimanya-Kabonera Division, Masaka City, are up in arms against a local landowner who has allegedly built a structure in the middle of a road, obstructing access and stalling development in the area. The affected villages include Lufumba, Kasanje, Lusagala, Nakasojo, Gulama, and others, which were recently annexed to Masaka City.

A severe dry spell has hit Nyakatonzi Sub County in Kasese district, leaving cattle keepers struggling to sustain their livelihoods. The prolonged drought, characterized by high temperatures and minimal rainfall, has resulted in significant livestock deaths and economic losses.

As Uganda joined the rest of the world in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8, women across the country used the occasion to highlight challenges they face in accessing funds from government empowerment programs, particularly the GROW initiative. The celebrations, held in Kyankwanzi District, were graced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the chief guest, alongside other dignitaries.
