Uganda Revenue Authority has presented a projected target of total domestic revenue of 35.692tn, of which tax revenue is 33.394tn and nontax revenue of 2.298tn in the next financial year 2025_2026.
This represents a growth of 13.78 percent of 4.323tn from the 31.369tn in the 2024_2025.

URA commissioner general John Rujoki, together with finance ministers Matia Kasaija and Henry Musaasizi were appearing before the finance committee to defend the vote ministerial policy statement.

MPs sitting on the committee asked for reassurance on resource mobilisation, where they alleged that traders are still concerned about efris where they still claim it is a tax rather than a revenue collection tool.

In response, Rujoiki confirmed having stalled the system for some time, but on a positive note, traders have continued to register on the efris system.

He says the focus will be on digital tax solutions to realize the domestic revenue target.
