The taxi drivers of Busega park were furious over the new traffic guidelines imposed by the government. The rules—no stopping near junctions, strict pick-up and drop-off zones, and heavy fines for violations—made their already tough job even harder. One driver Tamale Swaibu operating at Kiboga stage says it’s time for all drivers to protest against these penalties.
"How do they expect us to work like this?" complained Kyeyume Mustapha a stage guide “I suggest government should have considered marking the various roads instead of coming up with such penalities"Passengers won’t walk 100 meters just to board a taxi. If we follow these rules, we’ll lose customers!" Others grumbled about the lack of enough designated parking spaces, forcing them to either risk fines or spend hours waiting in long queues.
