KACITA-Uganda Appoints Hajji Issa Sekitto as Substantive Acting Chairman

Hajji Issa Sekitto appointed Substantive Acting Chairman of KACITA-Uganda.

KAMPALA – The Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA-Uganda) has announced the appointment of Hajji Issa Sekitto as its Substantive Acting Chairman, effective immediately. The decision was made during an Extraordinary Executive Board Meeting held on August 4, 2025, at the KACITA offices.

Hajji Sekitto will serve in this role for one year, providing interim leadership as the association strengthens its governance structures. The board emphasised the need for continuity and stability during this transitional period.

The board expressed gratitude to Dr. Thadeus Musoke Nagenda, the former Acting Chairman, for his dedicated service. Dr. Musoke has stepped down to focus on his political career, aligning with KACITA’s non-partisan principles.

In a statement signed by Acting Secretary General Baguma Timothy, KACITA urged members, partners, and stakeholders to support Hajji Sekitto in advancing the association’s mission of promoting fair trade and investment in Uganda.
