The community of Sseke village in Kinoni Town Council, Lwengo District, erupted in joy as Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) finally replaced their faulty transformer, ending a grueling twelve-month power outage. The long-awaited intervention came after persistent pleas from residents who had endured economic hardships and security challenges in the darkness.  

Residents and leaders in Mityana's Busujju County are sounding alarms over deteriorating security and public health conditions following a prolonged six-month power outage across multiple villages.
