Three young athletes in sports such as Football, Netball, and Cricket have been recognized by the Real Stars Sports monthly agency today at Kololo as the best athletes of the past month.
In football, Lugazi FC player Abdul Kalanzi, who scored 4 goals last month, emerged victorious ahead of Vipers SC's Allan Okello and Kitara FC's Patrick Kaddu. Kalanzi scored 4 goals in 4 league matches in the national league and the Uganda Cup, and currently, Lugazi is in 11th place out of 16 teams with 20 points.
In Cricket, young bowler Juma Miyaji outperformed Henry Ssenyondo and Raghav Dhawan. Miyaji helped Uganda remain unbeaten in the second round of the ICC Challenge League B held in Hong Kong last month.
In Netball, Gazelles captain Jane Asinde won ahead of John Deng Geu and Shilla Lamunu. Asinde was the MVP in the FUBA Zone Afro Basketball Qualifiers and played a key role in Uganda's victory over Egypt (74-63) and scoring 28 points in Uganda's match against Sudan.
There was also a special moment in football management when Fred Mufta Ngobi was recognized as a Lifetime Achiever in sports. Speaking to Salt Media, he urged football referees to always uphold integrity and fairness in officiating matches.
The Real Stars medals are awarded to athletes who have excelled in their respective sports over the past month.
