Buvuma District, Uganda – Residents and leaders in Buvuma District have raised urgent concerns about the lack of a mortuary at Buvuma Health Centre IV, the main healthcare facility serving the district's 52 islands.

A visit by lawmakers to Ssentebere Regional Referral Hospital revealed troubling gaps in essential services that threaten patient care. The inspection team found the facility operating without proper storage for medicines, forcing staff to consider unconventional solutions to safeguard drugs.  

Bussi, Wakiso District – Residents of Zzinga Island in Bussi Sub-County have expressed gratitude to Wakiso District Chairman Dr. Matia Lwanga Bwanika for his intervention in upgrading Zzinga Health Centre III, particularly the construction of a new maternity ward to address maternal health challenges.  
Dr. Bwanika inspected progress on a new maternity block to reduce maternal deaths. The facility will provide safer delivery services and eliminate boat journeys to Entebbe Hospital.
