Kabaka's 32nd Coronation Anniversary: Ssingo Launches Health Initiative

Ssingo County launched a health education program focusing on sickle cell disease.

As the nation celebrates the 32nd coronation anniversary of His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the Ssingo County leadership has launched a comprehensive health education program targeting various life-threatening conditions, with special emphasis on sickle cell disease.

The initiative, hosted at the Kabaka’s Gombolola headquarters in Mummyuka Busimbi, brings together medical professionals, religious leaders, and residents from across the country. The programme focuses on disease prevention and management, sickle cell awareness and testing, HIV/AIDS education, and other prevalent health conditions.

Leading the health outreach is Stella Nabulime (3rd Name), who emphasised the community's role in combating diseases, particularly the rising cases of diabetes in Ssingo County. "Every resident must become a health ambassador in their household," Nabulime urged.

David Ssendikadiwa Muwemba, the Kabaka's representative for Mummyuka Busimbi Gombolola, praised the program for restoring hope in community health. "This initiative embodies the Kabaka's vision for a healthy nation," he remarked while dressed in traditional attire.

Dr. Ssekikubo advised the Kabaka to avoid risky marriages for sickle cell patients, follow medical recommendations, and address the disease’s impact on families.

Affected community members like Magulu Nnyondo thanked organisers for the free medical services, health education, and essential supplies provided during the outreach.

This health initiative coincides with the Kabaka's coronation anniversary celebrations, demonstrating the monarchy's continued focus on improving subjects' wellbeing through practical interventions. The program's holistic approach, combining education with direct medical services, sets a model for community health engagement across the kingdom.
