This call comes as part of a broader initiative to address the growing health challenges faced by the population.

Africa CDC partners with Uganda to deploy 500 solar-powered refrigerators, strengthening vaccine cold chain infrastructure.

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has partnered with Uganda's Ministry of Health to deploy 500 solar-powered refrigerators worth $4.3 million, significantly strengthening the country's vaccine cold chain infrastructure.  

Ssingo County launched a health education program focusing on sickle cell disease.

As the nation celebrates the 32nd coronation anniversary of His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the Ssingo County leadership has launched a comprehensive health education program targeting various life-threatening conditions, with special emphasis on sickle cell disease.  
 

The President stressed that eliminating these diseases requires continental cooperation, increased funding, and innovative strategies. 

Kampala, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged African leaders to strengthen collaboration in eliminating HIV/AIDS, and hepatitis as public health threats by 2030. The call was made during the opening of a high-level continental meeting at Speke Resort Munyonyo, attended by health experts, scientists, and policymakers from across Africa.
