A tragic accident occurred early this morning on the Kampala-Gulu highway, claiming the life of a young schoolchild and leaving several others injured. The incident happened near Natete as a taxi and a bodaboda (motorcycle taxi) collided, resulting in a devastating scene.
The child, who was wearing a school uniform, died instantly at the scene. Witnesses reported that the taxi driver, identified as Elemerede, lost control of the vehicle, leading to the collision with the bodaboda. The bodaboda rider and the taxi driver were both injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment. The taxi also overturned and landed in a nearby ditch.
Eyewitnesses described the accident as horrifying, with the bodaboda rider and the taxi driver both sustaining serious injuries. The taxi's windshield was shattered, and the vehicle was left in a mangled state near the roadside.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after the accident to manage the situation and transport the injured to the hospital. The body of the deceased child was taken to the morgue for further examination.
