70th Birthday Celebrations of His Majesty the Kabaka: Second Deputy Prime Minister Wagwa Nsibirwa Announces Program

The chairperson of the organizing committee for the 70th birthday celebrations of His Majesty the Kabaka, who is also the Minister of Finance and Second Deputy Prime Minister, Wagwa Nsibirwa, has revealed that the preparations are complete.  

He made the announcement during a press conference held at Bulange, Mengo, which was attended by various ministers, including the Minister of Information, Israel Kitooke, the Minister of Parliament, Noor Kiyimba, and others.  

Minister Wagwa Nsibirwa explained that this year’s royal birthday celebrations will include various activities, with a focus on key events such as:  
 April 5th: Eye care camps and participation in the omusajja gw’ensiri (traditional male circumcision) ceremonies on April 7th and 8th, among others.  

However, the Minister added that this year’s celebrations will also feature a new initiative: the distribution of tractors to district leaders to boost agricultural development.  

He further announced that prayers for the Kabaka will be held in:  
 Mosques on April 11th & 12th  
 Adventist churches  
 A joint service at Rubaga Cathedral on April 13th  

For security reasons, additional details about specific venues will be communicated later this week.  

This year’s celebrations are guided by the motto: "Let us prepare, cleanse ourselves, open our eyes, and be healthy."
