The Kingdom of Buganda is in mourning following the passing of Prince Simbwa Kazibwe Goloba, a member of the royal family and brother to the Kabaka of Buganda. The sad news of his demise was confirmed yesterday after he succumbed to diabetes at a hospital in Nsambya.

Leaders in Mubende District have praised the former Chief Magistrate for the lower courts in the region, Caroline Byakutaaga, for her efforts in combating land grabbers who had been terrorizing residents under the guise of court orders.  

Opposition leader and four-time presidential candidate Kizza Besigye will remain in custody beyond, after the State filed fresh treason charges against him. Besigye, alongside his associate Obeid Lutale, appeared before the Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court, where they were charged with treason, a capital offense that the lower court cannot hear.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has sworn in nine newly appointed judges, emphasizing the importance of their role in upholding the law and ensuring justice for all Ugandans.
