A gruesome murder by mob has occurred in Nabiyungu village, Kasambya parish, Madudu sub-county, Mubende, with police launching an investigation into the incident.

 

 The unidentified victim, believed to be a boda-boda rider, was found dead in a swamp with ropes tied around his legs and hands, and a motorcycle rubber was discovered at the scene.

 

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was suspected of theft, leading to the brutal mob justice. The suspects allegedly set the victim's motorcycle, registration number UFS 407C, ablaze, burning it to ashes.

Two children, aged two and five, have lost their lives following devastating mudslides in Masibwe Trading Center, Masibwe Village, Bunyangabu District. The tragedy occurred after heavy rains pounded the area for over two hours yesterday evening, causing widespread destruction in several villages, including Burubma, Buniyiga, and Butyoka.

Following a surge in road accidents in Lugazi Municipality, which have claimed many lives and left others with severe injuries, local leaders and police have joined forces to construct zebra crossings in strategic locations. The initiative aims to enhance pedestrian safety, particularly for schoolchildren who are often victims of reckless driving.

The Uganda Police Force and Uganda Prisons Service have announced plans to recruit new officers to bolster their ranks and enhance service delivery to the public. Frank Baine, the spokesperson for the Uganda Prisons Service, revealed that the recruitment process will target individuals who have completed Senior Four (S.4) and possess the required academic qualifications. He emphasized that applicants must be physically fit, free from chronic illnesses, and willing to undergo rigorous training lasting several months.
