Fishing communities living near Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese District are living in fear of eviction by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). The concerns were raised during a meeting attended by Senior Presidential Advisor on Rwenzori Affairs, Ms. Christine Muhindo, at Kahendiro Fishing Landing Site on Lake George.  

Residents from various villages in Mawokota County, Mpigi District, have voiced their frustration over the slow implementation of the government’s rural electrification program. The concerns were raised during a visit by the Presidential Advisor on Industrial Development, Hon. Amelia Kyambadde, who was assessing the progress of government projects in the area.

A gruesome murder by mob has occurred in Nabiyungu village, Kasambya parish, Madudu sub-county, Mubende, with police launching an investigation into the incident.

 The unidentified victim, believed to be a boda-boda rider, was found dead in a swamp with ropes tied around his legs and hands, and a motorcycle rubber was discovered at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was suspected of theft, leading to the brutal mob justice. The suspects allegedly set the victim's motorcycle, registration number UFS 407C, ablaze, burning it to ashes.

Fort Portal, Uganda – The city of Fort Portal was abuzz with energy as over 400 participants gathered for the Save River Mpanga Marathon, featuring 21km, 10km, and 5km races. The event aimed to raise awareness about the urgent need to protect River Mpanga from pollution and environmental degradation.
